You know the feeling you get when you walk into someone’s home and it just feels warm friendly and inviting? That’s the vibes you want when someone enters your home. As I have been looking to buy a home I’ve been on the look out for “that good chi energy vibes” while entering a home. There are many ways you can make your home healthier and up to par with the Feng Shui principles. Feng shui is a Chinese practice of trying to create balance with the natural world in its interior spaces. It uses energy forces to create harmony between an individual and their environment. Feng shui is all about feeling safe secure and at peace in your space. Follow these simple steps to create balance in your home.

  1. Keep Your House Clear of Clutter. This is a wonderful book that explains to you why it’s so important to declutter your home. Did you know clutter can stop us from having clarity of thought? It can also stress you out! Your house will never be a mess again after reading this book. I promise this is a must read!

2. Keep the front door area very clean. When you enter a home you want to flow into the rooms like running water. Place a mirror perpendicular to the front door. You can also hang a mirror in the dining room, which represents your ability to hold your finances in order. My Japanese husband has a mirror near the front door and also in the dining room.

We have this mirror near our front door.

You can also explore a longer mirror to place above the dining room table.

3. Provide lots of natural light coming into the home. Opening up the blinds and make sure to clean the windows. Windows are considered the eyes of those living in the home. Dirty windows give off the perceptions of not seeing the world clearly. Windows also let go of bad energy and letting in good energy. So go open up those blinds and pull open that window!

4. Water Fountain to the left of the front door. Stand in the front door looking out, and place your fountain in the area to the left. Placing it on the left encourages fidelity within your relationship. I have a fountain who doesn’t love the sound of running water. It’s so relaxing. Water fountains at the entrance of a home is suppose to bring money, growth, opportunity and health.

5. Have live plants in the house. The best place for plants is in the kitchen between hot and cold appliances to create balance. If you fear you will kill them try and get some nice silk plants.
