In every person’s life there is a time where you have to put your foot down. Whether it’s your diet, relationship, career change, relocating to another city, or a friendship that’s a burden. Time to move on in your life. Too many of us, want to be people pleasers and sacrifice our peace and go along with what you think is the right thing to do. Well, follow these 5 tips to change your life and change your mindset.

#1 Recognize within yourself what really bothers you. Is it a person, that is a time vampire that takes away from your time with your family? Too much negative talk about other people’s business. You need to start to make up excuses why you can’t hang out with that person or crowd. Only give this person a limited amount of your time. Time is what you can control. It’s your life …your time. The moral of this lesson be mindful with who you spend time with and listen to daily.

#2 Schedule alone time for yourself. If you don’t make time to work out then you are not taking care of yourself. Putting your health first should be at the top of your list. Whether you take time to meditate, get a massage, 30-minute cardio session it doesn’t matter. Make time and take time for yourself. You will be better equipped to take care of your loved ones if you take care of yourself.

#3 Time to switch up your career. If you are at a point in your job where you actually can’t stand going into work and you are sick to your stomach with your colleagues. It’s time to transition into another job. It’s okay for a change. Changing careers is healthy and you are being proactive on what makes you happy. Years go by quickly and before you know it, you will have been in a miserable job far too long. Recognize in order to get a better life you need to make the change for yourself. If you have to go back to school do it on the weekends or online at night. Study on your lunchbreaks. Just put action towards your dream job. Small steps lead to big adventures.

#4 Envision what your life would be like if you did have that dream house, dream job, dream relationship. The more you use your imagination the more actions you will take to get yourself to live out those dreams to be fulfilled. Make yourself a dream board and playout in your mind what a day in your new life would look like if you had those wishes come true.

#5 Acknowledge it is your time that matters. Don’t waste time on negative people, small-minded company and people that drag you down. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you telling someone you don’t have time this week to hang out if you genuinely don’t like their company. Start to look outside your sphere of influence and discover new like-minded individuals that are going places. Take matters into your own hands and be the change you want to be.

Changing your mindset is a choice you can make within a day. Be the change you want to be. Change is a positive thing. One last reminder don’t share your dreams and ambitions with people that don’t support you. Life starts now. Little steps daily to be where you want to be is just what success looks like. The daily grind to your ultimate goal takes time, but when you reach that goal the taste of victory is sweet. Don’t give up.
